Theo Kalionzes

Program Officer, Nuclear Challenges

Theo manages grants on nuclear issues. Before coming to MacArthur, he was at Carnegie Corporation of New York, where he was a Program Assistant in the International Peace and Security Program. Previously Theo worked as a consultant and speechwriter in the External Relations section of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization in Vienna, Austria. He also spent time at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory under the aegis of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Next Generation Safeguards Initiative.

Theo holds a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, a certificate in Nonproliferation Studies from the James Martin Center, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

He currently sits on the steering committee of the Peace and Security Funders Group.
