Participants in Learning Labs hosted by the Catalytic Capital Consortium (C3) Grantmaking Program have partnered with ImpactAlpha to publish Seeding Impact, a series of articles that examine the role of catalytic capital in launching, scaling, and sustaining high-impact funds and enterprises that support social and environmental progress. MacArthur supports C3 Grantmaking through a grant to New Venture Fund.
The series was inspired by a set of conversations which brought together leading impact investors to discuss catalytic capital. The project will also produce three reports that draw on impact investors’ experiences with catalytic capital. The first report, which focuses on the challenges investors face as they work to seed impact and best practices for using catalytic capital, was published in July 2022, with the second one focused on the use of catalytic capital in scaling impact, to follow.
