Using algorithms in law enforcement has the potential to cause harm and needs transparency and accountability. A report from AI Now Institute looks at early accountability policies and laws to protect people from harm and examines their limits. The report includes guidance for leaders and questions for researchers as they work to implement algorithmic accountability in the public sector. MacArthur grantee AI Now Institute at New York University partnered with Ada Lovelace Institute and Open Government partnership on the study.
