Community-based and community-led climate efforts are essential for successful mitigation strategies. A report, Changing the Game, showed that community-based efforts had direct impact on people’s lives and helped national and global strategies achieve their intended goals. MacArthur commissioned this report by the Redstone Group with our partners, Marin Community Foundation and Equation Campaign. Community-based climate work takes on many forms, including engaging residents in systemic change, implementing national strategies, advancing local-level solutions, and testing scalable solutions. The report also showed that for every dollar invested in local efforts, one metric ton of CO2e will be mitigated by 2030.
