The Sixth Annual Media That Matters Film Festival premieres in New York City on May 31. This festival is an annual traveling exhibition of short videos and films on socially relevant topics such as justice, conservation, and civic engagement. It includes both professional and amateur works chosen by a jury of filmmakers, teachers, programmers and youth. The Media That Matters Film Festival is produced by MediaRights, a project supported by the Foundation that connects filmmakers, nonprofit organizations, educators and youth through a variety of online and offline projects. The MediaRights website features the nation's most comprehensive database of issue-oriented films and provides educators and librarians with tools to use film more effectively in the classroom.
