Chicago's city council unanimously passed a resolution committing to power all buildings in the city—residential, commercial, and municipal—with clean and renewable energy by 2035. The resolution makes Chicago the largest city in the United States to make such a commitment. This brings Chicago into the Ready for 100 club, a group formed by MacArthur grantee Sierra Club that has so far been joined by 118 other American cities that have committed to 100 percent clean, renewable energy.
