Presente, housed at Alianza Americas – a network of Latinx and Caribbean immigrant organizations – is the largest online Latinx organizing group in the United States. It was launched in 2009 to connect the thousands of young people pushing for immigration reform and a path to citizenship as part of the DREAMers movement. Today, its membership of more than 500,000 primarily Latinx young people use the power of social media and digital technologies to bring attention to issues they care about and use their collective voice to shape culture and influence policy change. This project grant provides flexible support to build Presente’s capacity to inspire and support Latinx young people to engage in civic and political actions that challenge negative and inaccurate stereotypes about, and work to improve, Latinx communities across the country.
