The American Constitution Society, working with the Campaign Legal Center, has established the Voting Rights Institute, a program to train attorneys in voting rights litigation and to assist ordinary citizens to monitor, report, and challenge voting access issues in their community. The Voting Rights Institute will train a set of attorneys throughout the country who will constitute an ongoing legal resource on voting rights; it will connect them with citizens in their communities to ensure that voting changes at every level are reviewed and those with discriminatory intent or effect are challenged. MacArthur funds will support staff, website, and training costs.
