Grants

2012 (3 years)
$300,000

This grant will provide seed funding to help establish a “center for the study of men and masculinities” at State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. The center will promote academic research and interdisciplinary scholarship, create a Master’s degree program on the topic, and serve as a resource for practitioners at non-profit organizations concerned with a wide range of social problems that might be addressed through a deeper understanding of masculinity. SUNY faculty and visiting scholars will train graduate students and develop collaborative research. A conference will help launch the center and its new master’s degree.
