Founded in 1976, the Swedish American Museum promotes Swedish-American culture and educates visitors on the history of Swedish immigration to Chicago. It preserves cultural heritage and presents exhibitions of Swedish art, with programming designed for adults and children. With this International Connections Fund award, the Chicago-based, Swedish American Museum presents an exhibit interpreting the letters of early 20th century Swedish immigrants to Chicago. Exhibitions in Chicago and Arvika, Sweden, examine century-old migration in contrast with current flows of migrants to the two nations.
