Media Forward Fund

Media Forward Fund (MFF) is a pooled fund that strengthens independent media across the German-speaking countries of Europe. Inspired by Press Forward, MFF was established in 2024 to address the decline of reliable, fact-based news in the DACH region and to support the sustainability of public-interest media. Through open calls, MFF provides media outlets with funding, upskilling opportunities, peer networking, and coaching. This gift provides general operating support.

Media Forward Fund is a new pooled fund for independent journalism in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Inspired by Press Forward and launched in July 2024, the Media Forward Fund has recruited a diverse set of donors from the three countries, many that are new to journalism funding, to join the collaboration. The goal of the fund is to strengthen the journalism sector through innovation and growth, and to address the news and information gaps in underserved communities. This grant provides general operating support and will be used primarily for regranting purposes.
