Jan Sahas Foundation is an established community organization that works across nine states of India, focusing on the most excluded social groups. It works for safe migration and worker protection practices and for the prevention of sexual violence against women and children. Responding to the catastrophic loss of livelihoods caused by COVID-19, Jan Sahas Foundation has set up the Migrant Resilience Collaborative (MRC), an initiative to support 10 million migrant workers and their families from 100 vulnerable districts over the next three years and to help them recover from the pandemic. The award enables Jan Sahas to ramp up work under the MRC initiative to build awareness around safe migration practices and opportunities and to facilitate processes that will enable these families to access their entitlements from existing public welfare programs.
