Grantmaking Guidelines

Purpose
The Foundation's grantmaking is intended to help increase the competitiveness of regions by advancing the development of a regional perspective and framework for action through research and guidance for policy makers and support for key institutions in the Chicago and Southeast Florida regions.

Strategies-Research
Grants are made to a limited number of major policy and research institutions for targeted research projects.  Such projects are intended to yield specific policy guidance to local, regional, and state leaders about ways to respond to immediate and emerging social, economic, demographic and technological challenges facing regions.

Strategies-Practice
Grants are awarded to help sustain a small group of formal and informal institutions that have as their primary mission the promotion and advancement of a regional approach to addressing local problems, pursuing opportunities, and development policies.

Funding
No unsolicited proposals are being accepted at this time.
