Grant Application Process
CSD geography-based grants follow a three-year recurring cycle, with one portfolio of grants prepared annually for each region. Letters of Inquiry are accepted and reviewed in an open and competitive process, and a limited number of full proposals are then requested based on this review. A typical grant portfolio consists of 10 to 15 grants per Focal Area. Most approved grants receive funding for a three-year period, and grant renewals are evaluated, based on performance, following three years of implementation. The table below lists the cycle of geographic priority areas for the next several years.
Schedule for Grant Portfolios by Geography: 2007 – 2009
Application Deadlines for 2007 – 2008
CSD does not review unsolicited project proposals. Instead, prospective applicants should prepare a brief Letter of Inquiry (LOI) using the form provided. Each LOI is reviewed in a multi-stage process, and selected applicants are then invited to submit a full proposal that is evaluated by the Foundation’s staff and then considered by the Board of Directors.
