Methane worker

Addressing methane emissions not only produces cleaner air and helps curb global warming, it also creates high-quality jobs in a growing U.S. manufacturing and services sector, according to a report commissioned by the MacArthur-supported Environmental Defense Fund. Methane, a primary component of natural gas, can leak into the air from leaky pipes and absorb the sun’s heat, contributing to global warming. The report identifies 76 companies across 46 states that manufacture, sell, and support proven methane control technologies, more than half of which are small businesses. As new rules and regulations about mitigating methane emissions emerge, demand for these technologies will grow.
