congress money

A study by the Center for Responsive Politics on the personal financial data of lawmakers, the Supreme Court, and some Administration officials found that, for the first time in history, more than half of the members of the House and Senate are millionaires. At least 268 of the 534 current members of Congress had an average net worth of $1 million or more in 2012. The Center, a MacArthur grantee, examined Congressional financial disclosures in order to inform the American public and provide greater financial transparency about their Congressional representatives.
