Opportunity Chicago, the MacArthur-supported workforce development initiative for Chicago public housing residents, surpassed its goal of helping 5,000 public housing residents find quality work, according to an evaluation.  Researchers used data analysis and interviews to explore the initiative’s distinctive approach and collaborative structure, elements that make it a national model for helping public housing residents overcome the persistent hurdles that pose a challenge to lasting employment.
