Marketing for International Development (M4ID) is a technology-focused social enterprise in Finland, specializing in building the capacity of those in the non-profit sector to more effectively use technology and new media to advance their work. Building on earlier work, M4ID staff is completing and launching the final version of Mimba, a digital community focused on maternal and reproductive health. The Mimba site is intended to advance maternal health by improving advocacy and communications efforts; connecting civil society organizations with individuals who wish to volunteer their services and with activists who will take action on behalf of a cause; by bringing together likeminded individuals who wish to self-organize around an issue; and by giving organizations a platform upon which to publicize materials, events, or activities.
