PARADISE VALLEY, ARIZONA — Landfill Harmonic is a documentary that follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, Paraguay. When a renowned orchestra director and a music teacher set up a music program for the children of Cateura, one of Latin America's poorest communities located on a garbage dump, they work with a local grandfather and garbage picker to fashion instruments made from discarded items found in the dump in order to allow more youth to participate. The film follows the Recycled Orchestra from its humble beginnings to international recognition. This grant will support costs related to production and post-production, including producer/director salaries, editing costs, and other technical expenses.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Meetai $80,000 between 2003 and 2014.
