Periodistas de a Pie

Periodistas de a Pie is a network of practicing journalists set up in 2006 to improve and increase reporting on social issues, particularly human rights. Since its establishment, in addition to providing professionalization training to journalists, the network has focused increasingly on threats to journalist security through both its training and advocacy activities. MacArthur funding will allow the network to establish a small secretariat, whose staff will be dedicated to growing the network and advancing its agenda, and will fund the replication of its network model in states on the front line of threats against journalists, including Veracruz, Guerrero, Chihuahua, Morelos, and Jalisco.
