NEW YORK, NEW YORK — On the Media is a nationally syndicated news analysis program produced by WNYC, co-hosted by Brooke Gladstone and Bob Garfield, and distributed by National Public Radio to more than 300 stations around the United States. Each hour-long weekly program provides news and media analysis designed to help the general public contextualize and think critically about the news they hear, see, and read each day. Since its launch in 2000, On the Media's audience has quadrupled from 220,000 to one million listeners each week. Its podcasts are downloaded two million times annually.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded WNYC/ New York Public Radio $200,000 between 2003 and 2013.
