Derecho Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (DAR) is a law and policy non-profit association whose main aim is promoting good governance in support of sustainable development in the Peruvian Amazon. This grant will contribute to the protection of the rights of indigenous peoples affected by energy projects and related infrastructure development in the Lower Urubamba Basin; strengthen regulatory capacity of the Cusco Regional Government to apply national environmental impact assessment standards to energy projects in sensitive areas and indigenous territories, and develop a regional energy policy to guide land use planning in the future.
