Program Officer, Great Lakes of Africa
John joined the MacArthur team in January 2014 following ten years as a Grant Director with the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund responsible for the grant portfolios in East Africa, Madagascar, Mediterranean and Polynesia/Micronesia biodiversity hotspots. Prior to this role John spent 13 years working on projects related to protected area management, ecological monitoring, threatened species, conservation and development in East and Central Africa.
John holds a master’s degree in advanced ecology from the University of Durham and a bachelor’s of science in applied biology from Nottingham Trent University both in the United Kingdom.
