Daniel Socolow will end his tenure as Director of the MacArthur Fellows Program on July 1, 2012, after 15 years of remarkable service.

Dan has led this iconic program for nearly half of its history, building its reputation for excellence and creativity.

Each year, the MacArthur Fellows Program awards unrestricted $500,000 fellowships to talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction. Their achievement, spirit, and creativity inspire us all.

The Foundation has engaged the search firm Russell Reynolds Associates to identify candidates for this position. We intend to select and announce a new Director in 2012.
