Arts and Economic Report

A national study by Americans for the Arts finds that arts organizations and their audiences generate a total of $1.3 billion in household income to Chicago residents, and deliver $214 million in local and state government revenue. In addition to the arts’ economic footprint, Arts & Economic Prosperity IV examines the diverse demographics of Chicago’s art audiences and evaluates potential growth in cultural tourism. Data collection for the Chicago study was conducted by MacArthur grantee Arts Alliance Illinois and compiled by Americans for the Arts. Read the report.
