The majority of the world’s most powerful Internet and telecommunications companies fail to disclose key information about practices affecting users’ rights, according to a report from the New America Foundation’s Open Technology Institute. The 2015 Corporate Accountability Index, supported by MacArthur, assesses corporate practices around freedom of expression and privacy and provides recommendations for steps companies can take to improve their practices and communications with users.
