health investment

An additional investment of $30 billion per year in countries with high maternal and child mortality rates could prevent approximately  5 million maternal deaths and 147 million child deaths by 2035, according to a study by The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health, supported by MacArthur, and other maternal and child health organizations. The study, published by The Lancet, explores different investment approaches to child and maternal health, and demonstrates how high investments in women’s and children’s health can secure significant health, social, and economic returns.
