Following long lines that developed in the last presidential election, Republicans and Democrats are supporting legislation to increase registration opportunities, expand early voting, and modernize election systems, according an analysis by the MacArthur-supported Brennan Center for Justice. Nearly 200 bills to expand voting access were introduced in 45 states in 2013, with many drawing bipartisan support.
