The Urban Institute and the Metropolitan Planning Council hosted “How Place Matters for Economic Mobility,” a day-long exploration of strategies to promote economic mobility for low-income families. The event brought together more than 200 policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and philanthropists. MacArthur President Julia Stasch provided remarks, as did former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The event was supported by MacArthur, The Chicago Community Trust, and JPMorgan Chase.
