Displaced people

One-hundred and ten governments have endorsed an agenda to provide more effective protections for the millions of people displaced annually by natural disasters and climate change. The Agenda for the Protection of Cross-Border Displaced Persons in the Context of Disasters and Climate Change, developed with MacArthur support by the Nansen Initiative on Disaster-Induced Cross-Border Displacement, was reinforced resoundingly at the Initiative’s Global Consultation. The Agenda presents a framework and identifies key principles, effective practices, challenges, and gaps for protecting cross-border disaster-displaced persons and for managing disaster displacement risk in countries of origin.
