Several of the Foundation’s human rights grantees in Mexico have been working on multiple facets of what is being called a crime against humanity. As Mexico continues its search for the 43 missing students that were disappeared on September 26, 2014 in Iguala, Guerrero, Tlachinollan Human Rights Center is providing legal and political representation for victims’ families as they pursue justice.  The Centro de Derechos Humanos Miguel Agustin Pro Juarez is ensuring the provision of protection mechanisms granted by the InterAmerican Human Rights Commission to safeguard the integrity of the investigation and the search for the students. The Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team is conducting forensic investigations of human remains discovered in collective graves, and the Fundación para la Justicia y el Estado Democrático de Derecho is working to document each case and obtain information necessary for identification of the victims.
