The International Crisis Group launched today in New York its new $50 million Securing the Future Capital fundraising campaign, with commitments totaling $20 million from MacArthur, George Soros, Frank Giustra, and Victor Pinchuk. MacArthur’s $5 million grant is one of a very small number of large institutional grants awarded each year by the Foundation to organizations that conduct work central to the Foundation’s mission and that are at a stage of institutional development where a substantial one-time investment would be particularly timely.
