That is the position of Mistakes Kids Make, a storytelling project that advocates for juvenile justice reform that veers toward rehabilitation for young offenders and away from a punitive, unforgiving, and outdated system. The project, produced by Public Interest Projects with support from MacArthur, emphasizes that while youth should be held accountable, taught responsibility, and helped to reform their behaviors, their illegal actions should not cost them the chance for a good education and positive life outcomes.
