In January, at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, the Bay Area Video Coalition announced the launch of the Producers Institute for New Media Technologies, a ten-day residency program for independent producers. During the program, participants will each develop a prototype to present and distribute a significant documentary project for multiple platforms such as web, film, podcast, and cell phone. Major funding for this program was provided by the MacArthur Foundation.
