A multi-part series of stories by the conservation news outlet Mongabay investigates the effectiveness of some of the most popular strategies to conserve tropical forests around the world. The MacArthur-supported series explores forest certification, payments for ecosystem services, protected areas, community forest management, and other conservation methods. It will also examine how big conservation organizations use evidence to guide their decisions and how they evaluate the effectiveness of their projects.
