Established in January 2015, the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED) is the professional association of the 11 electricity distribution companies in Nigeria. Its mandate is to engage with stakeholders in policy and regulatory matters; set industry standards; bring value to customers; and conduct public education. With this renewal award, ANED is educating the public and policy audiences about the sector and strengthening customer-service delivery to improve accountability and reduce corrupt practices. The award is expected to result in customers who are educated about their rights and avenues for redress, improved service delivery, and greater accountability in the sector.

It is also supporting existing rural electrification cooperatives. The award is expected to result in consumers who are more educated about their rights and avenues for redress, more informed media and public policy audiences, and more active rural electrification cooperatives.
