Servicios de Asesoría y Paz (SERAPAZ) is a civil society organization with over twenty years' experience in supporting victims of violence and human rights abuses. The award supports an initiative among organizations in twenty states to monitor and document government implementation of policies that address disappearances. Bringing victims' families and other grassroots groups together with human rights organizations that have advocacy expertise, the initiative’s goal is to generate evidence on gaps in policy implementation and call attention to changes necessary to improve investigations of disappearances.
