The Planning Coalition (TPC) is a community-based organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. TPC engages South Shore residents, businesses, and other organizations to collectively address issues of public safety, education, and economic development. Its vision is a stable, vibrant, thriving community in which residents, families, organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders feel safe and empowered to live, work, shop, recreate and attend school. With this award, TPC partners with three other South Shore organizations to convene a series of planning sessions that clearly delineates the roles and responsibilities of each partner and a results in a prioritized list of short- and long-term projects for the community to pursue.

TPC engages South Shore residents, businesses, and other organizations to collectively address issues of public safety, education, and economic development. Its vision is a stable, vibrant, thriving community in which residents, families, organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders feel safe and empowered to live, work, shop, recreate and attend school. This award enables TPC to partner with three other South Shore organizations to host a series of meetings and workshops for a broad range of community residents and other stakeholders. These convenings inform the development of a neighborhood revitalization plan that will guide TPC and other local organizations as they move forward in their work.
