Alliance of Local Service Organizations (ALSO) provides local and national programming focused on gun violence, gender-based violence, youth engagement, and policy and systems change. It provides street-level violence interruption outreach on Chicago’s northwest side; re-entry resources and support for those returning to their communities from custody; community-building activities; job training for youth; and training and technical assistance to increase the effectiveness of local and national organizations and agencies in responding to violence-related issues. This award supports four staff members to attend a leadership program called "Managing to Change the World, 101 Edition: Black, Indigenous, and People of Color," hosted by The Management Center.

This award strengthens ALSO’s sustainability by investing in a cash reserve, supporting administrative infrastructure, and creating an innovation fund to ensure that the organization remains competitive in its areas of expertise.
