The Rutgers Institute of Information Policy & Law (RIIPL) engages law students, scholars, practitioners, policy makers and the broader community around issues of information policy. RIIPL’s activities include scholarship, speaker events, student projects, community engagement, and public communications. The award supports policy-oriented research and analysis in two related areas: 1) technical definitions of automated decision-making systems for legislative and regulatory purposes; and, 2) analysis on the risks and harms associated with large scale government databases and how they intersect with automated decision-making systems.
