The Grupo de Información en Reproducción Elegida (Information Group on Reproductive Choice, or GIRE) is Mexico’s leading legal defense and advocacy organization for reproductive rights, providing legal counsel and case documentation, research on rights violations, and communications strategies. The communications campaign supported by this project allows GIRE to get information out to the general public about the midwifery model of care. GIRE is working with partners in selected states to extend the #ParterasdeHoy (#MidwivesToday) campaign, with messages targeted to each state's needs and opportunities. GIRE’s legal team is also advocating for increased knowledge about and implementation of policies and regulations that support midwifery.
