2020 (1 year)
$150,000

3Arts is a nonprofit organization that advocates for women-identified artists, artists of color, and deaf and disabled artists working in the performing, teaching, and visual arts in Chicago’s six-county metropolitan area. Its core program provides awards each year in the form of unrestricted grants to individual artists who represent historically underserved populations. Individual artists, and particularly those from communities of color, are experiencing hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the crisis, 3Arts broadened its focus to all artists. It is collaborating with Arts Alliance Illinois and Arts Work Fund as part of the Arts for Illinois Relief Fund, a newly created fund with contributions from more than 20 funders designed to provide relief to artists and arts organizations. This award supports 3Arts in providing assistance to individual artists.
