Nonprofit Finance Fund

The Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) is a national Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) with strong expertise in outcomes-based financing approaches. The proposed grant supports a knowledge campaign undertaken by NFF and the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank (SF Fed) to create awareness among community organizations, social service providers, government agencies, donors and impact investors about the use of outcomes-based financing approaches in social service delivery. The campaign involves the publication of a book and dissemination of its content via web and social media placements, and a series of in-person gatherings at Federal Reserve locations in priority cities. If successful, the proposed grant would support the development of a comprehensive resource on the subject, leading to increased dialogue and adoption (as appropriate) and to increase interest, collaboration and commitment from donors and investors. Grant funds will be used for book and communications expenses.

The Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) is a national Community Development Finance Institution headquartered in New York City that is dedicated to more effective social sector financing practices and policies. The grant will support NFF’s efforts to develop specific transactions in which NFF acts as an intermediary and advisor for impact investors. In addition, NFF will provide advice and support to Foundation grantees on developments related to the use of “Pay-for-Success” models in social services and other fields in the United States.
