Girls' Secondary Education in Developing Countries
KAMPALA, UGANDA — The Forum for African Women Educationalists-Uganda (FAWE-U) works with local communities, over 500 schools, civil society organizations and the Ugandan government to achieve gender equity and equality in education through targeted programs. The project contributes to the increased access and completion of quality, relevant secondary education and vocational and skills training by war-affected adolescent girls in post-conflict Northern Uganda, through research, policy development, evaluation of existing models and promising practices in the delivery of post-conflict education, and the improvement and expansion of a model school.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Forum for African Women Educationalists, Uganda Chapter $500,000 between 2002 and 2015.
