Accountability Lab

Founded in 2012, Accountability Lab is a Washington, DC-based non-profit organization that supports individuals to develop and implement positive ideas for integrity in their communities as a way of promoting positive social and economic change. With this award, Accountability Lab is managing a travel fund that will support Nigerian civil society, media, and government representatives to participate in the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Conference in Washington, DC. Participants have the opportunity to learn from other anti-corruption practitioners from around the world and to share lessons learned from Nigeria.

The award supports a member of the organization to attend the fifth annual Impacts of Civic Technology Conference (TICTeC). The expected outcome is an improved understanding of how new media and technology can be used to advance governance and accountability.

With this award, Accountability Lab is launching the Accountability Incubator in Nigeria to support young people to develop projects and ideas to promote accountability, improve service delivery, and reduce corruption. It is also expanding the reach of the Integrity Idol campaign and hosting a summit for Integrity Idols and their teams to create a coalition of accountability champions in Nigeria. Expected outcomes include a coalition of accountability champions prepared to develop creative solutions to pressing challenges in Nigeria.
