Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development (BUILD) is an art-centered youth development organization in Chicago that provides young people on the city’s West Side with leadership opportunities, positive out-of-school activities, clinical counseling, and mentoring. BUILD views creative expression as vital and interconnected to its work in violence intervention and prevention. This award provides general operating support to BUILD as part of the Foundation’s Culture, Equity, and the Arts program.

Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development (BUILD) is a youth development organization in Chicago that provides youth aged six to 24 with school-based curriculum, youth leadership opportunities, positive out-of-school activities, and mentoring. All of its work incorporates restorative justice principles that emphasize repairing the harm caused by criminal behavior. This award strengthens the fundraising and financial capacity of the organization, supports human capital and planning needs, and invests in technology.
