Established in 1982, the Chicago Children's Museum (the Museum) offers original, play-based experiences that engage children and their families in creative, collaborative learning. The Museum's mission is to improve children's lives by creating a community where play and learning connect. The Museum offers three floors of activities and programming for children and adults, including permanent and rotating exhibits and interactive workshops for families, educators, and communities. This award recommends renewed general operating support to the Chicago Children's Museum.

The Chicago Children’s Museum provides developmentally appropriate, experiential education for children from birth to age ten. With 15 permanent, interactive exhibits and workshop spaces, educational programming, and community engagement programs, the Museum serves more than 700,000 visitors annually. This grant will support general operations of the Chicago Children’s Museum, as well as new and existing exhibitions, visual and performing arts programming, accessibility initiatives and planning for the Museum’s expansion.
