Centro de Investigación para el Desarrollo AC (Center for Research on Development or CIDAC) is a Mexican think tank with substantial expertise in developing indicators for and monitoring implementation of the criminal justice reform. This award supports the design and implementation of a Specialized Unit on Investigation within the Prosecutor’s Office in Chiapas State. The pilot project is conducted in collaboration with the Prosecutor’s office and other agencies that participate in the criminal justice process. The goal is to create a model unit that increases effectiveness in criminal investigations while also protects due process and the rights of defendants and plaintiffs in the new accusatory system.
