The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability is a bi-partisan, non-profit research and advocacy organization that promotes fair, efficient, and progressive tax, spending, and economic policies. The Center will use this grant as supplemental funding for the technical build-out of the Illinois Budget Tool, an online budget-modeling tool that allows citizens to explore and understand the Illinois state budget and the challenges of bringing it into balance.

The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability identifies, develops, and introduces into the public debate nonpartisan, data-driven analysis and equitable public policy recommendations that will improve the fiscal health of Illinois and other states. The Center will use this grant to develop the Illinois Budget Tool, an online budget-modeling tool that will allow citizens to explore and understand the Illinois state budget and the challenges of bringing it into balance; and to help facilitate the exchange of ideas among voters, elected officials, and public interest groups.
