Connecting Gender for Development (COGEN) is a Nigerian nonprofit established in 2003 with the mission to empower women and communities, advocate on issues affecting them, and promote inclusive and participatory governance. Using lessons learned and tools tested in their earlier award, COGEN is strengthening the advocacy skills of community groups, including school-based management committees and parent forums, to demand accountability in the administration of the Home Grown School Feeding Program in Kaduna State. The final award is expected to strengthen community and government accountability processes.

With this award, COGEN mobilizes and supports community groups and networks to collaboratively monitor, document, and demand accountability in the administration of the Home Grown School Feeding Program in Kaduna State. The project contributes to On Nigeria’s goal of reducing corruption by building an atmosphere of accountability, transparency, and good governance.
